Airline Ambassadors

On Christmas Eve in 1983, Nancy Rivard lost her father to bladder cancer. She began to wonder what life was all about if it could be taken away so quickly. She decided to become a flight attendant instead of pursuing the management track at American Airlines. This allowed her low-cost passes and a flexible schedule so she could tour the world and search for her life’s purpose. She came to the realization of her life’s purpose: Love in action.

In 1997, Nancy started a nonprofit called Airline Ambassadors, which delivers small amounts of humanitarian aid to orphanages worldwide. In 1999, she was honored as World Woman of Peace. She continues today and since 1992, AAI has helped an estimated 500 thousand people restart their lives.

Free Hugs from Juan Mann

Juan Mann shares the love by his offering of free hugs once a week to strangers at a busy Sydney Australia mall. He achieved world-wide fame when a band, the Sick Puppies made a music video of Juan when they saw the great reactions of people who received his Free Hugs, which was then posted on You Tube. One man who just wanted to see people smiling and happy made all the difference.
