A Couple’s Commitment to Plastic Beach Art

by Stacey on January 26, 2012

Finding plastic debris on the beach and turning it into colorful works of art became Richard and Judith Lang’s commitment that began on their first date at Kehoe Beach in Northern California. They went back to the beach as often as they could to see what they could find.  In one year, they collected 4,000 pounds of plastic!  They began making art out of their plastic findings and have been since 1999.  Not only have they made a life out of their combined talent for creating such extraordinary art from ordinary plastic, but they have brought a deeper awareness to the problem of plastic polluting our seas.
